Attorney Keith L. Magness
Auto Accident Attorney, New Orleans
Born and raised in Southeast Louisiana, I am a former U.S. Marine, Deputy Sheriff, and Special Agent in the U.S. Secret Service who knows what it means to fight for people. I received my law degree from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in 2003 graduating with honors in the top 10% of my law school class. While in law school, I received the LaNasa-Greco Academic Scholarship, the William L. Crowe, Sr. Scholar Award, and was a published member of the Loyola Law Review.
For the first two years after law school, I served as a Special Agent in the New Orleans Field Office of the U.S. Secret Service. As a Special Agent, my primary duties included investigation of illegal activities affecting the financial infrastructure of the country, and support of the Agency’s protective mission for the President and Vice President of the United States.
After my time with the Secret Service, I began practicing law. At first, I worked as an attorney in a large downtown firm representing various businesses and insurance companies in all types of matters. The value of my cases varied from a few thousand to several million dollars.
In 2011, I formed the Law Office of Keith L. Magness, LLC with the goal of providing outstanding legal services to individuals at a fair and reasonable price. I have a passion for representing people injured through the fault of others and focus my practice on assisting victims injured in auto accidents, 18 wheeler and truck accidents, company vehicle wrecks, motorcycle accidents, bicycle accidents, as well as bus and fatal accidents. This focus has allowed me to become a “go-to-guy” for auto, truck and motorcycle accident claims resulting in my selection as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers Association – an honor extended solely to the most qualified attorneys from each state who demonstrate superior qualifications of leadership, reputation, influence, statute and public profile.
Likewise, in 2015, I was awarded the Premier 100 designation by the American Academy of Trial Attorneys. The Premier 100 designation is an honor bestowed on less than 1% of attorneys in the United States.
Additionally, I am a proud member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Top Trial Lawyers in America. Membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of their clients. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members.
Outside the practice of law, I enjoy spending downtime with my wife and three children (two boys and a girl) fishing and traveling. I am also a supporter of various healthcare charities including the Multiple Sclerosis and Cancer Societies. As a veteran, I am a proud member of the American Legion, a service organization for veterans.
Admitted to practice law before all Louisiana state and Federal courts, I stand ready to fight for you if you have been injured as a result of someone else’s fault.

* Should we be able to resolve your car accident claim before filing suit, our firm limits its fee to 30% of the gross amount collected. If suit must be filed, our fee is 37%, which is still less than the “traditional” fee charged by many Louisiana personal injury law firms. The fee will not increase any more even if we have to take the case to trial.
* Please note that in addition to the agreed upon contingency fee, should we collect money on your behalf via settlement or judgment, you will be liable for costs and/or expenses. These sums will be subtracted from your portion of the settlement proceeds and will be identified on a settlement statement provided to you.
